The C63 AMG was launched in 2008 with one target in mind: BMW's M3. Munich's iconic M car had topped motoring tables the past 3 decades and AMG knew they would need to do something special to challenge it - and something special they did.
While the M3 at the time wasn't short on power, the thunderous 6.2 litre V8 shoehorned into the unsuspecting C-Class produced 43bhp and a neck-snapping 147lb ft of torque over its rival.
Enough power to to pass 62mph in 4.5 seconds, 100mph in 9.7 seconds and by the time 150mph is showing on the speedo the C63 was a quite incredible 3.6 seconds further down the road (22.9 sec vs 26.5sec).
If the C63 was just a powerful engine however, it wouldn't have been much of a rival to the aforementioned M-car. Thankfully, AMG knew this and worked just as hard on the chassis as that monstrous V8.
Autocar said at the time:
"It had better steering than the M3 thanks to its crisper response just off centre, specifically when turning in to quicker corners. And the way the chassis loaded up so smoothly when you committed to a corner also made the BMW feel edgier by comparison, particularly in the wet."
In 2011 the C63 was treated to a raft of improvements including an aluminium bonnet and grille, and gained a new seven-speed multi-clutch gearbox.
This particular example presents in lovely condition, having covered only 42,000 miles from new. Looking splendid in its white-over-black colour combination this C63 will come with a new MOT and fresh from servicing with renowned Supercar specialist RE Performance.
