Iconic. Legendary. You could even say a national treasure - I'm sure the late Queen would agree, given her love for them. No matter how you refer to it, the Land Rover Defender is in a class all of its own. Of course it has competitors, however the Defender offers something nothing else does in this class - complete flexibility. You can be transporting sheep in the morning, popping to the shops in the afternoon, climbing Ben Nevis and dinner time and heading out for dinner at the Ritz - the Defender can do it all.
The other big party trick is flexibility; the Defender has always been a blank canvas, allowing you to create your ideal example of the breed. From cut down bodies and jacked up suspension to examples more suited to the road from the likes of Twisted or the Chelsea Truck Company, the Defender is the epitome of personalisation.
And while examples from such companies are exemplary in their design they are far from affordable. Even Land Rover themselves offer a customisation service which starts (!) from a hefty £228,000.
This example started life as a 2008 Defender 110 XS and was registered to its first owner in July 2008. The second keeper then purchased the vehicle just over a year later in August of 2009 and kept it for the following 11 years, in which time it was used thoroughly as intended.
It was then parked up for a considerable amount of time, gaining a thick layer of dirt a moss over the already tired exterior and this is where the current vendor stepped in.
After purchasing in June 2021 he set about not only treating the Defender to a well earned recommissioning, but also to improve and personalise to a high standard.
Make no mistake, this is not your average Defender.
To begin with the Defender was completely stripped to its component parts. The rusty areas were treated or replaced and the chassis and underside treated in Dinnitrol.
Gone is the rear cab section; replaced with a Masai panoramic full glass rear unit, and a fresh coat of Corris Grey paint was applied along with a contrasting black gloss roof.
While the shell was bare our vendor fitted Dynamatt sound proofing throughout the inside and on the underside of the bonnet to ensure noise is kept to a minimum and the interior was then meticulously planned from the ground up; Lucari luxury carpets were duly fitted and 4 Corbeau seats mounted front and rear (don't worry; it still has the two extra seats in the rear making it a very flexible six - seater). Lucari cubby boxes were fitted both in the front and rear, and nearly every surface was treated to a covering of rich leather.
The Masai suede roof lining compliments the now rejuvenated insides, and gone is the original underpowered audio system and in its place a full compliment of upgrades, all neatly hidden away.
We simply cannot explain the level of detail this Defender has been subject to - from new stainless fixings, to items such as seatbelts, door and window seals - near everything has either been refurbished or replaced.
One area which did not require work was the running gear, the 2.4 litre turbo diesel engine performing in fine health. This did not stop our vendor from carrying out some preventative maintenance and choice upgrades however - please take time to review the full list below.
What now stands before you is not only a fully recommissioned Defender but one customised from the heart. Our vendor has spared no time or money ensuring this example presents as well as anything from big named players such as the examples mentioned earlier, however now offered to market at a fraction of the price.
This really does need to be seen to be appreciated - contact us now.
